Jackson Osborne represents £1 million disability discrimination victim
As reported in the Mirror newspaper and the Western Mail, Jewson Ltd, the builders merchant, is facing a bill of up to £1 million for wrongly sacking a manager, Mr Jonathan Jones, after a stroke. Stephen Jackson (of Jackson Osborne, of course) represented Mr Jones throughout the Employment Tribunal proceedings in Cardiff. The Tribunal has already accepted that the dismissal amounted to disability discrimination. The Tribunal has retired now to make its findings on the facts, such as for how long Mr Jones would have conitinued working if he had not been dismissed and what Mr Jones’ likely earnings will be into the future, so that the parties can calculate the final award from those facts.
